Practice/Praxis

Artists create in order to make sense of this fragmented world. For the artist, the creative process is an eternal act of putting things back together again. When we create, we tap into the divine to build artifacts that make life worth living.

Bulong at Sigaw
watercolor on acid free paper

Eaters of the Dead
acrylic on canvas

Eisenhower warned the public of America’s powerful military-industrial complex. An elite group of sophisticated cartels, or Cabals, who profits from war and oil extraction; further more, the deprivation of exotic energy - That warning comes almost 60 years ago.

Today, as the we begin to overlap to the 4th industrial revolution, we see one of the largest economies create more enemies then ever, influential military contractors pushing to privatize wars and huge fundings from banking institutions for offshore drilling and fracking. But nature responds like a thief in the night; After all, the coronavirus is the perfect storm for those who feed off the dead.

A Portrait of Happiness
acrylic on canvas

Midcentury modern forms bring me a sense of happiness when creating them. In lieu of a facial portrait, I am showing an abstracted face of happiness using lines, color, and forms that are playful from balloons, sunshine dow n to the smallest blade of grass.

Collage can be applied to both my work process and character building. We are a product of nature and nurture. It is from our environment that we select which parts we want to attach to ourselves and through self-reflection that we attempt to improve those that we dislike.

Tinitira ang Natitira
acrylic on canvas

Maganda man o hindi.

acrylic on canvas

This pandemic caused an awakening beyond its size. How can something microscopic hit harder than calamities we thought set back and pulled us down. Priorities are set to prevent and control the damages it can further do. But what is really essential? Food? Facilities? Money? How about going back to normal? School?Work? Gatherigs? Relationships? If this is nature's way to restore itself, are we even worthy of saving? What we are left with are uncertainties that keep us wondering and waiting to wonder and wait again.

May pag-asa pa.

At the Forest Edge
acrylic on canvas

Reminiscence of my childhood days, when fireflies are plenty. Today, fireflies are fast disappearing because of logging. Let us be reminded to protect and save the trees, to save the fireflies. Fireflies mean a balanced environment.

oil on canvas

My work is about the global news on why or how people having more vivid dreams in the time of pandemic and lockdown. And asking myself why is it even possible to dream? When you don’t even make memorable memories and just sleeping on it all away.

Sometimes You Do Not Need Eyes to See
oil on canvas

My artwork displays my emotions and struggles to attain my dream role – to be one of the naneries transcending the pangs of material existence, free from the entanglement with the material world, focused on the philosophical search for the Absolute Truth, and endeavor to go back to the Supreme Personality – the real mission of life.
