Roberto Martin N. Galang

Dr. Robby Galang is an Operations Officer for the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group.  Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Robby has had more than a decade of international experience in the analysis of strategic and regulatory issues for private corporations. More recently, he was an assistant professor of business strategy at Ateneo de Manila University and the Asian Institute of Management where he conducted research on the impact of government institutional inefficiencies on firm performance.  He completed his PhD in Management from the IESE Business School and his MSc in Development Economics from Oxford University. 

Outside his professional responsibilities, Robby relives his first career as a history teacher by writing short syntheses on Philippine politics, culture and history.  He was a recent presenter in the first workshop sponsored by the Philippine chapter of the The International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage (TICCIH) held last December 2020.  He has written a book on Philippine history entitled, Elites et developpement aux Philippines: un pari perdu? (Elitist Politics and Economic Development in the Philippines) with Stéphane Auvray and Cristina Jimenez-Hallare published byl'Institut de Recherche sur l'Asie du Sud-Est Contemporaine in 2003.
